C O Shrimad Bhagvat

Shrimad Bhagvat Mahapuran
Shrimad Bhagvat, composed by Great Sage Vedavyasa, is most authoritative of the Indian Scriptures. The same has emanated from the essence of the Vedas and the Upanishadas, which is also the best of all ways to become acquainted with the living religion of India. The same was expounded in this age of Kali with the object of completely destroying the fear of illusion. There are no means other than this, conducive to the purification of mind. By constant listening to the Bhagvat, the Lord takes up His abode in one's heart. The study of many scriptures will only create confusion but the Shrimad Bhagvat alone proclaims loudly to grant Liberation. An exposition of the Shrimad Bhagvat is certainly rare in the world. In fact the same can be had only through merit, percolated through crores of lives. The study of Shrimad Bhagvat is superior to a sacrificial performance, it is even superior to Yoga, and it is ever superior to meditation and spiritual enlightenment and is also ever superior to everything else. The Lord infused all His glory and energy into the Bhagvat and disappeared in the ocean of the Bhagvat. Even as a fire consumes all kinds of pieces of wood--whether moist, or dry, small or big, so does study of the Bhagvat eradicates all kinds of sin--whether recent or of long standing, minor or major, and perpetrated in thought, word or deed. The Bhagvat is full of the nectar of supreme bliss. which is unmixed sweetness, devoid of rind, seed or other superfluous matter. Go on drinking this divine nectar, again and again, till body-consciousness ceases. Thus the Bhagvat is fried in the butter of knowledge and steeped in the honey of Love.
The Bhagvat contains twelve Chapters. Five questions on each Chapter are framed here to have the overall idea about the Bhagvat. It is requested to answer these questions in about 200 words each after through study of each Chapter and send for perusal monthly. Shrimad Bhagvata Mahapuran, with English translation, published by Gita Press, Gorakhpur-273005(INDIA) is recommended for the study.
